Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday said he is working tirelessly to ensure that President Bola Tinubu does not lose the 2027 presidential election.

Wike, who spoke during a media chat, said that opposition politicians — Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) — will “hunt for his head” if Tinubu fails.

“If anything happens, and Mr President fails today, I will be the first politician that Atiku, Obi will hunt for his head

“So, I don’t, I didn’t make that mistake to be sleeping to see that the President loses the election. No, because I know they will come for my head,” Wike said, noting that rather than being a threat, his concern is to support Tinubu.

The minister, who is a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has continuously campaigned for the President who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming January 16, 2027 presidential election.
