The Federal Government has announced five digital banking and mobile money platforms through which selected Nigerians can receive its ₦50,000 cash assistance under the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).

According to details published on the NERSI website, beneficiaries can receive their payments through ALAT by Wema Bank, MoMo PSB, NairaGram, OPay and Moniepoint.

The approved platforms offer USSD codes and mobile applications that allow beneficiaries to access their wallets, withdraw funds or make payments directly.

The government explained that successful beneficiaries would receive an SMS notification from their assigned payment provider once the money had been credited to their accounts.

The five approved platforms and their access codes are listed below:

  • ALAT by Wema Bank: Dial 94523#.
  • MoMo PSB: Dial 6710#.
  • NairaGram: Dial 72600#.
  • OPay: Dial 95520# or access the OPay mobile application.
  • Moniepoint: Dial 557327# or use the Moniepoint mobile application.

How Nigerians Can Receive the ₦50,000 Support

The NERSI website stated that the cash assistance programme is targeted at poor and vulnerable households across the country, with beneficiaries identified through verified national identity records and the National Social Register.

Under the programme’s guidelines, individuals selected for the intervention will receive an SMS from one of the five approved payment providers notifying them of their eligibility.

Beneficiaries are expected to respond with YES to the message to indicate their acceptance and consent to participate in the programme.

After confirmation, a mobile wallet connected to the beneficiary’s phone number and National Identification Number (NIN) will be created, through which the ₦50,000 assistance will be paid.

Recipients can access their funds by withdrawing through Point-of-Sale (POS) agents or banks, while those who prefer can also use the money directly from their mobile
